New athletics booster endowment honors Giants icon Kerry Clevenger

Patricia GibsonMHSAA News

Kerry Clevenger is a Marion Giants icon.

When it comes to Marion Giants athletics, perhaps nobody has ever done more for student athletes than Kerry Clevenger.

Many of Marion’s championships have Kerry Clevenger behind their success, with him to thank for equipment, indoor batting cages, jerseys, meals for athletes, hotel stays, luxury bus travel to state tournaments, and more.

Kerry took such pride in the purple and gold, going to practices, helping the feeder systems, and loving all of the Marion Giant sports teams. Countless Giants were supported by this Athletic Hall of Famer and Hall of Distinction member.

That is why it is only fitting to give back and give Kerry Clevenger naming rights to an entity he was so passionate about. The Marion High School Athletic Department and the Marion High School Alumni Association have established a new fund: the Kerry Clevenger Marion Giants Athletic Booster Club Endowment. This will have Kerry’s name forever in the program and synonymous with Marion Giant Athletics.

Monies from this fund will annually go toward the Marion Giants Athletic Booster Club to help our student athletes in Kerry’s great name.
