Marion High School Alumni Association congratulates this year’s winners of the Keller Family Science Scholarship: Isabel Khalouf and Paris Sheron, both members of Marion High School’s Class of 2024.

This scholarship is for students planning to pursue a career in a science field. The two honorees this year were awarded $250 each.

The Keller Family Science Scholarship was established in 2023 by Kathleen Keller, a 1991 graduate of MHS.

Isabel Khalouf is a 10-year 4-H member. She has interned at a local veterinarian’s office and volunteered with a local animal shelter, along with equine summer camps. She is an active member of her church and a church choir, and is also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

She plans to attend Taylor University for biology, then pursue a veterinary medicine degree at Purdue University.

“My experiences at Marion High School have taught me that in order to succeed you have to be dedicated and hard working in order to get the best learning experience,” Isabel said. “I have had to work really hard in order to rise to the challenging honors classes in my later years of high school. I hope to carry the same mentality as I move forward onto my college career and life goals.”

Paris Sheron, Marion High School Class of 2024, is a Keller Family Science Scholarship honoree. Here, she poses for a photo with the Marion High School Alumni Association Board.

Paris Sheron, in addition to being a member of the MHS Class of 2024, has been a student in Grant Regional Career Center’s nursing program, earning her certified nursing assistant clinical medical assistant licenses. She has attended competitions through HOSA – Future Health Professionals. She has also played basketball and soccer.

She is an active member of her church, and has volunteered as a camp counselor.
Paris plans to attend Manchester University for exercise science, with a career goal of athletic training. She also plans to play collegiate soccer.

“One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned in my science journey is how important it is to persevere through the tough times,” Paris said. “I’ve learned that setbacks and failures are a natural part of the scientific process, and that it is best to remain determined and focused in the face of adversity.”

Congratulations to these outstanding students!
