Over the past few months, Marion High School alumni with connections to the MHS tennis program, along with many other friends of the program, stealthily built a new fund as a surprise honor to Coach Bill Beekman and Coach Doug Porter, the winningest coaches in any sport in Marion Giants history.
On Oct. 7, 2022, the surprise was revealed during the Night of Giants Alumni Honors Ceremony at the Walton Performing Arts Center at MHS. Dozens of former tennis players and families gathered at the event to show these two legendary Marion coaches how much they mean to them, and to the whole community.

With more than $14,000 in the fund already, there is a good foundation to support Marion Giants tennis today and long into the future.
