Two Marion High School alumni have been selected by the Indiana Pacers to be part of their new dance team, the Pacers Hype Crew.

Gaby Padilla, MHS Class of 2017

Luis Hernandez, MHS Class of 2016

Class of 2017 graduate Gaby Padilla and Class of 2016 graduate Luis Hernandez are two of 18 members of the 2018-19 Pacers Hype Crew, which will perform on-court and interact with fans during Pacers home games, including preseason, regular season, and postseason, along with other events and appearances on behalf of Pacers Sports & Entertainment.

In addition, Pacers Hype Crew will be role models that make a positive impact in Indianapolis & surrounding communities, the Pacers said, participating in various community events.

“I am so incredibly excited for this amazing opportunity,” said Padilla, who is studying communications at Ivy Tech Community College. “Thanks to everyone who has supported me. I am so ready to start this new journey!”

Hernandez, an IUPUI student studying psychology and dance, said the opportunity is a special one for the Marion grads.

“I am absolutely grateful to have been given this opportunity to work with the Pacers,” he said. “If someone had told me during my senior year of high school that I would be doing this in a few years, I would not have believed them. I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me grow into the person I am today.”

Marion High School Alumni Association sends our congratulations to these two Giants! We are always so proud to hear of accomplishments of our alumni and their commitment to positively impacting the communities they call home.
